Common knowledge of human-machine interface is the first knowledge for beginners to understand. The product consists of two parts: hardware and software. The hardware part includes processor, display unit, input unit, communication interface, data storage unit, etc. HMI software is generally divided into two parts, namely system software running in HMI hardware and screen configuration software running under PC Windows operating system. Next, I will introduce the future development trend of human-machine interface in detail.

With the development of digital circuits and computer technology, the high, medium and low functional divisions of human-machine interface products in the future will become less and less obvious, and the functions of HMI will become more and more abundant; HMI products above 5.7 inches will all be color displays, and the screen life will be longer.

Due to the reduction in computer hardware costs, HMI products will be dominated by tablet PC computers as high-end products of HMI hardware, because this high-end product has great advantages in processor speed, storage capacity, types and number of communication interfaces, networking capabilities, and software resource sharing, which is the development direction of future HMI products. Of course, small-sized (display size less than 5.7 inches) HMI products, due to their advantages in size and price, will be widely used in human-machine interaction applications of small mechanical equipment as their functions are further enhanced (such as adding IO functions).

Some mechanical industries, such as machine tools, textile machinery, electronic equipment and other industries, have been developed in China for decades and are relatively mature industries. In the long run, these industries still have the need to upgrade equipment. In this process of upgrading, some small manufacturers that have been using relatively low-end products will indeed be eliminated, but many companies will also reposition their needs during the equipment update process to find equipment suppliers that can meet their development plans and help them improve their productivity.

In view of this demand, the changes in the human-machine interface in the future will change in shape, concept, application occasions, etc., thus bringing about changes in the core technology of industrial control computers. Generally speaking, the future development trend of the human-machine interface is six modernizations: platform embedding, brand nationalization, equipment intelligence, interface fashion, communication networking and energy saving and environmental protection.
