Product featuress

Allen-Bradley's 1746-OB32 is a 32-channel digital output module. It gives a voltage output of 24V DC. The 1746-OB32 has 32 outputs, with 16 points per common, and a source operational voltage of 5 to 50 V DC.

It is a high density, low current DC output module that can be installed in any accessible slot of the 1746 chassis, with the exception of slot 0.The 1746-OB32 has an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) at 5-95% non-condensing humidity and can endure an operational shock and vibration of 30G and 2.5G, respectively, at 10-200 Hz. It is certified as C-UL and UL Listed Industrial Control Equipment for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D Hazardous Locations and meets the NEMA standard ICS 2-230 Noise immunity.

This1746-OB32 module includes a Removable Terminal Block (RTB), an Octal Door label, 32 LED lights devoted to each channel, and a color-coded module bar with the component number shown. AN Allen-Bradley produced 1746-N3 or 1492 wiring systems.

FAQ

Q: Why does the Allen-Bradley 1746-OB32 module have a rated output current of 0.5A but a reduced output of 0.2A at 60℃?

A: The 1746-OB32 module's internal power components generate heat when in operation. If heat dissipation is inadequate, heat might collect within the module, raising the component temperature even further. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can hasten component aging and possibly lead to failure. As a result, the output current must be decreased to limit heat generation while ensuring that the module operates safely and reliably.

Q: Is it compatible with non-Allen-Bradley brand PLCs or older SLC 500 controllers?

A: Allen-Bradley created the 1746-OB32 module exclusively for the SLC 500 series PLC, and it is often incompatible with non-Allen-Bradley PLCs. This incompatibility is caused by variances in communication protocols, electrical interfaces, and data formats between different brands of PLCs, which hinder proper communication and cooperation with the 1746-OB32. However, the 1746-OB32 module is generally compatible with older SLC 500 controllers.
